GTA 6 release date: November 19, 2026 — what's actually confirmed

Rockstar has locked in a launch date after two delays. Here's exactly what's confirmed for platforms, and what still isn't.

Grand Theft Auto VI is set to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X and Series S. Rockstar originally targeted a Fall 2025 release before pushing the date to May 2026, then delaying again to the current November date — each time citing extra development time rather than any specific technical issue.

There's no older-console version. GTA 6 is built around fast NVMe storage and a large unified memory pool, hardware that PS4 and Xbox One simply don't have, which is why Rockstar skipped last-gen entirely this time around.

PC players are the one group still waiting on a real answer. Rockstar hasn't announced a PC version, a release window, or system requirements. Going by GTA V's pattern — which arrived on PC roughly 18 months after its console debut — a realistic guess for GTA 6 on PC lands sometime in 2027 or 2028, but that's an estimate based on history, not anything Rockstar has said.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has been unusually direct about the date holding. On the company's most recent earnings call, he reiterated November 19 with enough confidence that Take-Two is now projecting roughly $8.2 billion in revenue for the fiscal year built largely around this single release date sticking.
